For Ottershaw Roundabout we plan to:
- Improve traffic flows on the existing at-grade junction through the provision of a new roundabout with greater circulatory capacity. (At-grade meaning all the roads are on the same level with no underpasses or overpasses)
- Widen the carriageway at all approaches and exits in order to provide additional traffic lanes and help minimise queuing, delays and future congestion particularly at peak times.
- Improve access to Brox Road in terms of driver and pedestrian safety, but not present it as an alternative route.
- Expand the existing Murray Road car park and provide improved pedestrian links to the Village Hall and west to Fox Hills Road / Chobham Drive.
- Provide a 4m wide shared use footway/cycleway along the west side of Guildford Road.
- Provide safe controlled crossing facilities for pedestrians and cyclists around the junction.
- Improve lighting for all road users and those using the village hall.
- Improve public transport facilities.
- Provide flood attenuation ponds and swales in order to help reduce and better manage potential future flood risk.
