Don't forget to comment on proposals for Ottershaw Roundabout

A planning application to improve traffic flow through the Ottershaw roundabout on the A320 has been submitted, and the public are able to comment on it until 31 December 2021.

The planning application covers a series of improvements at the roundabout – known locally as The Otter roundabout - at the junction of A320 Guildford Road with A319 Chobham Road, Foxhills Road, Murray Road and Brox Road.

The application by Surrey County Council’s infrastructure service is for a new roundabout with increased capacity. It also includes improvements to junctions, pedestrian/cycle connections and crossings, and the existing public car park. There will also be associated landscaping, infrastructure and engineering works. . The application will be determined by the county council planning authority through an independent process. You can review the design here .

Surrey County Council and Runnymede Borough Council were awarded £41.8 million by Homes England via the Housing Infrastructure Fund for works on the A320, from the Ottershaw Roundabout to Chertsey. Increasing capacity on the road will mean approximately 3,000 new homes can be built across 10 sites in this part of Runnymede – a key component of the Borough's recently approved Local Plan.

To comment on the planning consultation, search the Surrey County Council online planning register using reference number SCC Ref 2021/0185 or email mwcd@surreycc.gov.uk.

Comments must include the reference number, your name and full postal address. Please be aware that Surrey County Council isn’t obliged to take account of comments received outside the consultation period. However, the council will normally do so up to the date a decision is made. Written comments are publicly available and cannot be treated as confidential.
